Introduction

Mr. Siyong Lim is a seasoned maritime law enforcement expert with over 17 years of service in the Korea Coast Guard.
He specializes in international cooperation, drug investigations, and foreign affairs, with hands-on experience in field operations and legal interpretation.
He has completed advanced training with the FBI, Colombian Navy, and UNODC, and served as a Co-Trainer for the 2025 VBSS course in Batam, Indonesia.
As a professor at the Korea Coast Guard Academy, he teaches drug enforcement and immigration procedures to new officers.
Mr. Lim holds multiple national licenses including Administrative Attorney, Maritime Affairs Attorney, and Certified Legal Interpreter.
He has interpreted at high-level international conferences and contributed to Korea’s maritime diplomacy and transnational crime response.
His academic and operational expertise support his role as an advocate for expanding maritime security ODA strategies.
He actively collaborates with UNODC GMCP and regional law enforcement agencies to promote rule-based maritime order.
He manages “MarePress,” a professional blog delivering insights on maritime law, international cooperation, and legal advisory for foreign seafarers.
Driven by purpose and professionalism, Mr. Lim continues to build bridges between nations through maritime security and global partnerships.
